I love donating. But I absolutely HATE the "E-gift card". Go back to an actual gift card. Such a pain doing it all electronically. Just another thing I need to make sure I have my phone on me so I can use it. If I even remember I have it.Dylan, thank you so much for your lifesaving donation. We will be passing your comments along to our service excellence team. If you have any other questions or comments please feel free to contact us at 866-642-5663.

Been donating here since I was 18. Its always a great experience. Some people do it to save lives. I just want the cookies and apple juice at the end. Lol! Really nice and clean place. Give blood, save lives.

I’ve normally had good experiences here. The waits aren’t terribly long compared to Red Cross drives. The nurses are new sometimes and one missed my vein and it hurt a lot. Other than that one time, the blood giving has been steady.

I never had any real problems giving blood at Versiti. Yes sometimes it takes a few minutes longer than normal to get processed , but that is mostly seems because of a lot of walk ins that is great. I have giving everything from plain blood to plasma, to double reds to now platelets. . Platelets takes about 2 hours from start to finish sometimes a little longer. I am glad I am healthy enough to be able to give.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, we are reinstating our mask policy for donors as of 8/3/21. As of 8/3/21 8/3/21, Versiti donors and staff must continue to wear a face-covering while in our facilities, except where medical conditions prevent them from wearing one. All Versiti donation locations will continue taking donor temperatures, practicing social distancing and closely adhere to FDA and CDC cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
Individuals must wait two days after the day of vaccination to donate blood or platelets.
There is a 2 day waiting period. Example if you receive the vaccine on a Monday you would be deferred for 2 days..So you could donate on Thursday.
Blood donation is safe. The donation process itself poses no risk of infecting a blood donor with coronavirus. Donating at centers or at organized blood drives is safe. Coronavirus is not currently known to infect patients through blood transfusions.
Employees and volunteers will continue to wear masks, per CDC and OSHA recommendations for staff in healthcare settings.
Versiti is pleased to announce the SARS CoV-2 antibody test will be performed on all donations as part of our standard testing. We will be conducting this test as we continue to fight the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with the help of our donors. The antibody test will be performed on all successful donations at every Versiti blood center and blood drive. This test will be done automatically on tubes that are collected as part of the donation, in addition to FDA mandated infectious disease testing for all blood donations Versiti already performs.
The FDA does not allow us to pay our volunteer donors to help protect and keep the blood supply safe. However, we do sometimes give incentives to our donors as a thank you for your time and donation. At the end of the day, helping save the lives of local patients is the greatest gift anyone could receive!
Yes, if you give blood they will find out your blood type
It is against FDA regulations to pay donors for their blood. Plasma centers that pay for blood use the plasma for testing purposes only; everything we collect goes directly to patients.
Versiti doesn't pay for any donation. Try biolife to be compensated.
It looks like Petoskey is the closest this month 8/15/19 Petoskey Community Drive 101 E Lake st
Versiti is a non-profit organization that relies on the generous donations of whole blood and various blood components. While Versiti frequently has promotions where they provide a gift (such as a gift card, t-shirts, etc. to its donors, it does not pay for plasma or other donated blood components.
Hi Ed, I have asked our contact center to reach out to you. Expect a call from them soon.
Most blood pressure meds are likely OK.
Hi there! We don't pay for blood donations - all our donors are volunteer! Hospitals can only accept blood donated by volunteer blood donors. :)
