Agree with Marie Patrick, they allow and are great about this. But, to Kevin Dimitroff's point there about the cake, and the occasion, it wouldn't hurt to call ahead. Typically they don't take reservations but for such an occasion they might put aside space and you can drop off cake before hand.

Yes if you make the reservation let them know ahead that you're bringing a cake and if you wanted as a surprise drop it off earlier and they can keep it in the refrigerator
