I have just moved down from upstate NY. I am hoping to find a lake or large pond for swimming. I reside in the "Old Towne/Pfatstown area. Do I need a membership or vicinity ticket to go to the park for a swim?

Hanging Rock State Park has a lake that is open during the summer for swimming. Check out the days and hours that it is available by going online or calling them.

CG Hill Park does not permit swimming. Fishing per NC FISHING RULES. THE Yadkin River had very deep holes in places. Look up NC Parks and Recreation. I'm from Ohio. Found it difficult to find fishing holes, swimming holes, and such in NC. Seems access seems always private.
