I thought you were allowed to overnight park at truck stops? Cause i was just told your only allowed 2 hours maximum.....

"Truck stops" are a business based on trucks buying fuel, and from the store. They also offer truck parking, because it encourages customers to come. If you are not in a truck, then you are not part of their business model, and they can ask you to leave to make room for customers. I don't know what kind of vehicle you were in, but if it was an old motor home or a passenger vehicle, then I would understand them asking you to move, because otherwise they would be filled up with homeless in no time, and have no room for their customers. If you are needing to just park overnight, I would talk to the manager on duty and tell them when you would be leaving, and see if they will give you permission. It is still up to them, but if you ask, and have a specific leave time agreed on, you will have a much better chance of getting permission. Or, you can pull over to the turnout on the southbound on ramp, and hide behind the trucks that park there lol

Some truck stops have problems with drug users or homeless people hanging out there. The one you were at probably has a local policy to deal with that.

Me neither don, some guy just knocked on my window and told me i wasnt allowed to overnight park here, that the maximum was 2 hours.

I have never seen a sign talking about that....I have napped after having the lunch special on several occasions while traveling thru the area.

I cant tell you how many times ive been completely out of legal drive time and find a bunch of rvers who can park in shopping centers or anyplace they want they ought to get fat tickets for their arrogant assholish ways

Normally they only allow trucks and tv's to park overnight. But the tired driver rule applies if that's what you are in certain area's.

Two things first if you buy a couple of hundred dollars worth of fuel no problem you staying overnight in a truck second the expectation is 10 hours not 24

good idea to ask to assume something is not a good idea stop parking lot it's the last thing I want to do but I've done it and I've always asked and once again as other guy just said it really depends on the people what they're not if they'll let you are those things you on your way meteor either way that's the graciousness of our society some will some won't some do and some don't

Not true. We do not like having RVs and such taking up truck spots
