Yes, you can. I returned their brand of hotdogs once without one. I got them the day before and they were past date by a week, i didn't notice until i opened them and they were spoiled.
They just changed this recently now they are trying to give you a gift card of store credit which is still nice
I have seen people return things without a receipt. But I'm not sure if this is still the policy.
I dont know the answer to your question. However I returned a product that was spoiled and they have a policy of double your money back. But I did have my receipt.
