I want to buy the google wifi, but I am confused if I have to buy a modem or not. I am moving into an apartment, and I will not be buying cable. I just want wifi, please advise your thoughts. thank you

Yes you will need a modem to go with the Google WiFi system. It's a router which takes the signal from your modem to your devices

as long as you have wi fi set up at your apt. it will work. (wi fi set ups require a modem and router)
