No !! It's has never been closed for me on the weekends not even on holidays. Just this weekend 12/23/2017 I enjoyed hiking and walking up and down the coast good 2 hours and not that crowded.
They do close some areas for winter and for maintenance occasionally. The park is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. There're great ocean views and some wildlife. This park has great board walk and nice facilities. Roads and parking are also nice. Take you camera and spend some time here.
