You can pot them as any other tree in potting soil but not too much fertilizer. Let them get to about a foot or more tall before planting them outside. I have 2 growing in my yard now. I fertilized them after about a 6 months time. They will not grow in an area above about 2800 feet. I am 2500 feet and mine are in full morning sun and doing great this year. They are almost 2 years old.
