I know an old timer from the area and although he didn't know about the car, he said that a road went through there at one point. I can't recall if he said it connected Corvallis to Camp Adair or if it was Kings Valley to Corvallis. Anyway, he said he travelled it frequently. He called the area the canyon which started at Maxfield Creek Road.
We live outside of Dallas next to a large wooded property that's got an old logging road through it... been logged from way back. There are 2 old cars... like 40's or early 50's that look like they were pushed down the hill. I think that's just the way they disposed of cars that quit running and didn't want sitting around the house... out of sight, out of mind? Love Jennie's story! Great that you found an old timer historian... I was born in 1950...I guess I am one too😊. Thanks for the story! Oh, and Jeffery..."What old car" cracked me up. I thought the same thing... and then I remembered it. It's been awhile since I have seen it 😊
There is most definitely evidence of past logging activity in the area, so very well could have been left by a logger. Another thought I had about it was, since that land used to be owned by a family, it was probably a junk car that got taken out there at some point, and never got removed.
The one up the lower trail across the creek. We were wondering the same thing.
What old car?
I concur with acebanca!
