Depending on your dates like, yes I would say it's a good date. They do have a bar that you can have a drink when you done with your races. You can grab a drink and table then chat about what just went down.
I think Adam's answer here is pretty spot on. In general, the faster-than-you-expected karts give the date a shot of excitement and adrenaline, then the friendly competition/banter gives you a lot to trash talk about and tease each other. Watching others on the track can be entertaining (or downright funny at times) as well, and the atmosphere to hang out and have a drink or snack in the afterglow is better than one would expect from a go-kart track.
