Certain trails in areas protected by the PA DCNR are designated as ATV accessible. Most are not, however. Michaux has one trail nearby that is 36 miles long designated for ATVs, expanded to 42 miles in the Winter months. The trail is between Big Flat and Pine Grove Furnace State Park. You can access the trail in Big Flat, near Shippensburg Road. ATV use is prohibited for all trails NOT marked as for use with ATVs, so if you don't see a sign saying it's okay, it's not okay. There's a page with more info on PA DCNR's website. Try searching "PA DCNR ATV trails" . Roads for regular vehicles within the state forest may be a different story, but my guess is that it is not allowed because it's up the local governments to allow it. I'd call the Michaux office and ask. If it is allowed on any road at all, then it's probably the gravel roads that make up the interior of the forest.

I believe you have to have a permit, but yes
