It's really the falls .. from the American side .. if you want a direct head on view of the falls you have to cross the bridge into Canada .
No, the manager informed me of falls view being a myth. All you can see is mist and you can not request this. You get what is available at check in. I had a smoking room and I'm a nonsmoker. My room smelled horrible and it was dirty. Good luck.
