It's open I never seen one ranger ever there the gates are automatically shut I was just there
Unfortunately the trail may be closed even if it doesn't rain in that specific area, but it could rain 3 counties over and the water level rises due to where the water travels from. The rangers are typically very friendly, but I'm sure they're just trying to make sure people are safe. I've been the the cliffs several times, and before going I used the new tsp mobile app to check alerts at Burgess Falls State Park, which is where the cliffs are located. The last time I was there, which was just last weekend, I noticed some of the tension wires to help people across the creeks were completely under the sand, which means the water level and current was so strong during one of the recent floods. The parks have been notified of these wires too. The trail is awesome and the cliffs are beautiful, I hope you're able to hike it next time you plan to go!
It takes juz a lil rain to Flood gorge!!!! Park Ranger walks entire trail just before sundown.... Park closes @ sundown
