How can I get rid of a n Insignia icon coming n the screen every few seconds atthe bottom of my 46in screen? It blocks the information so I cannot read it.

Sounds like your tv is in "retail mode". Go to your menu and select set-up, and then I believe select plug and play and there you should find the plug and play wizzard to set up for home use
