Corporate needs to decide and commit customer satisfaction and staff accordingly!
You could go to Whole Foods, which is down California at Newell. Just as expensive as Safeway and with a better choice of hot food. This Safeway has limited space. Yet Safeway enlarged the Starbucks presence. Re lines, Safeway could install four self-serve kiosks. Actually I wish it would. Put 'em next to the Starbucks area.
Horrible store, weak on customer service and no one seems to care that customers have to wait in long slow lines to check out. It's been that way for 20 years, I avoid this store and only go in when it is absolutely necessary, never do major shopping there, only an item or two. Checkout clerks can be the rudest I have ever encountered. Shop elsewere
They need to hire more people, but I'm sure corporate has something to do with it, because it has always been that way....
I was there around 4 pm on the 4th. I found myself pleasantly surprised. There were several registers open. One thing of note: even when the lines are long & the staff is pushed to their limits, they are always pleasant and courteous.
Its always peak shopping times there. The lines are long because it's the only grocery store in the area. The managers need to hire more staff but it's hard when you cant get any decent people to apply
They need more clerks at the registers!
They need to adjust the schedules of the cashier's for more coverage during peak times.
I totally agree with you... every time I go to Safeway there is only one line open .
