It is short and mostly shaded but still take water and and plan on an 1.5hr round trip and of course gage it depending on your kids endurance and age and interest... but it is a very good very beautiful family friendly hike. The waterfall is more of a continuous boiling rapid and is impressive from the multiple vantage points ... also note this isn't a creek going over a waterfall then turning into a creek again as these places typically are so if you have a "willful child" this would be a deadly place if they touched the waters edge or fell in.

It's very kid friendly, flat hike that some people ride bikes on. It's about 3/4mile each way.
