I am donating a bed that is being picked up on 3/19 and want to know two things:1) how and will I get my donation receipt for my income tax?; 2) why was I asked to also donate $35?

Sorry for late reply, I just saw your questions. You should have received your receipt when the item was picked up. The donation is to help defray the cost of the pick up. It is very expense to do pick ups - labor and insurance costs, trucks need maintenance and gas. Even though we sell furniture, that money does not typically cover the actual cost of picking up items. Also the donation helps to cover the cost of picking up food for our Vinnie's Hope Food Bank.

I don't know these answers. The $35 may be because they are picking it up but I don't work the so I don't know. I would suggest calling and talking to them. Sorry I can't help more.

The extra donation helps cover gas and wages for the employees that are delivering or picking up your item. All profits above basic operational exspenses goes to help feed the hungry and to service local members of our community in need. I have been dealing with them for almost 40 years and can attest to the great work they do and their wonderful impact on the community.

They will give you one recipe at the store and most likely the donation is for store costs or recycling fees if it doesnt sell.
