This little hole in the wall thrift store has been a favorite in the neighborhood for many years. Known especially for having quality used furniture at good prices, and delivery service, but it also has a decent selection of clothing, housewares and miscellaneous items, and several shelves of books nicely organized by category and author.

I feel bad about leaving a bad review of this place since I was able to find what I was looking for, but most of the people in the store and some of the volunteers weren't wearing masks. No social distancing - the people in line behind me …Dear Sara, I’m extremely sorry that your experience with us was not up to you expecations. We endeavor to keep all our staff and guests healthy and safe. Due to COVID-19, there have been certain limitations placed on our business and our team has tried to adapt to the many changes. We will reiterate to customers and staff the need to follow our social distancing and masking policies that helps to ensure the safety and health of all. Currently in Minneapolis, masks are Encouraged but not Required indoors. We do have signs posted. Please reach out to me via email at [email protected] if you’d like to further discuss this topic. Thanks, Wayne

Wide selection of home appliances in front and back rooms. Fun apparel selection. Fitting rooms are closed at the time being, tho mirrors in the shared public space are available.Hi Tri, thanks for the nice review. We work hard to make St Vinnie's a must stop shopping destination. Hope you stop by often. We appreciate your support.

Did your store recover from the riots (over the death of George Floyd) back in May?

St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store (Owner) | Nov 14, 2021

Yes. We were closed for 120 days, reopening July 31 2020. We took the time clean up and remodel and paint etc. We were more than happy to welcome back our customers.

Do you accept gently used homemade Afghans and polar fleece blankets? The items are homemade. They have been laundered, so they are clean.

Yes we would accept homemade afghans and blankets.

I am donating a bed that is being picked up on 3/19 and want to know two things:1) how and will I get my donation receipt for my income tax?; 2) why was I asked to also donate $35?

Rosita Albert | Nov 13, 2021
St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store (Owner) | Nov 14, 2021

Sorry for late reply, I just saw your questions. You should have received your receipt when the item was picked up. The donation is to help defray the cost of the pick up. It is very expense to do pick ups - labor and insurance costs, trucks need maintenance and gas. Even though we sell furniture, that money does not typically cover the actual cost of picking up items. Also the donation helps to cover the cost of picking up food for our Vinnie's Hope Food Bank.
