Is the hike to the waterfall and easy one?

You may not swim in the pool at the base of the falls: it is very cold and very dangerous from the pressure of the falls. The Park has a lovely lake with opportunities for boating and for swimming. We look forward to your visit. McArthur Burney Falls Interpretive Association

The water is very cold even in the summer. I saw a few people briefly go into the water but no one was swimming. I don't remember seeing any signs that swimming was forbidden. But best to not make plans to swim here.
