If you go after 4pm and buy the tic online it's cheaper than at the window or their kiosk.
The one thing I found helpful was the city pass. You can visit 5 different attractions including the aquarium. As long as you do 3 of the 5 you make a deal. Do 5 and you made a great deal.

They have what's called a Mommy and Me package, where one parent and 2 or 3 children get in for a discount, but I believe that promotion is over for 2018
It's a yearly package for a family of 4 people...i don't know about 5
