We got there around noon and stayed till closing, on a Sunday, and some of the bigger animals like the tigers, elephants and pandas weren't as active. Definetly the earlier the better!
They open at 9:30 am. Get tickets in advance and be there then. We got there about 15 minutes early to get a closs parking spot. That way you have cooler weather, more active animals, and smaller crowds!

10-11am is the best time to go on a Saturday. The parking can be an issue.
