Is there an African wilderness part? With giraffes and other animals that would be in that type of habitat? I believe when we came last year they were I the process of building that type of place

I visited last month and the part with the giraffes (Savannah Safari) was not opened yet.

The African Savannah is closed and currently under construction until late 2019. https://zooatlanta.org/support/capital-campaign/grand-new-view/

If you are about to open a fully African area this year 2019 🤩🦓🦁🦍

Yes there is and you can also feed them. I think to feed the lettuce is $5 (I can't remember but my kids loved it). They had a couple giraffes there last year when we went at this time. Really is a nice zoo and easy to navigate. My family liked this zoo much better than another zoo up north.
