Anybody know if the water is safe to swim in? I've been hearing some reports on "flesh eating bacteria"in Florida and I'm kind if paranoid that the infection might be in this beach.

I think it is safe to swim as a lot of people are out here swimming and enjoying themselves. I am not aware of such but that does not mean that its impossible at the santa monica piers

I was just their 2 weeks ago , and it was lovely , on a friday night and plenty of people in the water, just always take safety health and shower afterwards, I mean it is like a large pool who know was is in their. It's the ocean humans are not the only swimmers other than that enjoy urself all that sun the water will call u

Don't know for sure if it is. I would say no. Reason being the water there is COLD. I don't think bacteria could survive in it. There were many many happy looking swimmers in the water when I was there.

I was their the end of August, only thing that creeped me out a little about swimming in the ocean was this gross seeweed, their was alot of it😫 otherwise, the ocean itself was breathtaking!! The Santa Monica Pier was amazing😀
