I have an Illinois Drivers License which got expired on Feb 5,2018. I have recently relocated to NJ, can i get the renewal here? do they request for Illinois valid license for that?

You will need to get a NJ license. Their rules are that you have to provide 6 points if identification. Go to the website. njmvc.gov. You'll find the details there. Your Illinois license is expired and you don't have a Valid NJ license' which means that you are (temporarily)an Unlicensed driver for which the penalties are severe. You had 4 months to get your NJ license. The police don't look on that favorably.
