That is actually on the lower end of gate prices for Renn Faired. It pays for all the shows on all the stages, including the jousting. The performers may ask for tips, but you do not pay for each show you go to. Think of it like the gate price gets you over 10 comedy and musical acts for free.
But it does you get to see all the shows that are free with the ticket price you choose to tip the shows. Plus the prices on merchandise inside is not pumped up to eliminate the price of tickets so you get what you want at fair market value
This seems to be around the going price for a concert, the Renn Fest has around 7 musical acts, a good number of comedy shows, live glass blowing demonstrations from various eras, other crafts. I always go at least twice a year to be able to see a good percentage of concerts and shows. To each there own, but there's a lot to see for not much more than the cost of a movie.
There are always coupons available to lower the entrance price.
Yeah, what the above two said. Entertainment is all included (and there are LOTS of shows and performers). A lot of the stuff inside is very reasonably priced (even food and alcohol) because the overhead for everything is covered by the entry fee.
