Not at all. It's best to tell them at the time of order how you like your meal. You can give them direction from no spice at all to very spicy. On the buffet - I would say that almost all dishes have "mild" spice to them. My kids eat there for the buffet on occasion and never have an issue with spice.
Yes, as Scott said : Buffets have mild to medium spice levels. For ala-carte, you can ask them to tweak it.
