I've never bought hermit crab supplies from this place, however, I own hermit crabs. Most stores are not equipped to deal with hermit crabs. Every single hermit crab sold in the store is a wild-caught hermit crab. They do not breed in captivity. I do not advise getting a hermit crab, or keeping them, however, if you must, please do it the right way. Hermit crabs need a lot of things. Do NOT keep them in a wire mesh cage. Those cages are an absolute death sentence for them. They need humidity at least at 80% and above. I keep mine at about 85 to 90% humidity. The temperature ranges anywhere between 75Ā°f, and 85Ā°f. You need a mixture of Eco Earth, and sand for the substrate. Your substrate needs to be at least deeper than the thickness of the shell by at least 2 in. They bury their self when they molt. They must have that. Also, If you go to the store, and they have painted shells, steer clear of them, because they don't know what they're doing. Painted shells are poison to hermit crabs.
