You are locked in during the over night. Ghost hunts but are free to leave at anytime..we had a amazing time 10-31-2017..8pm-5amyes the buildings are locked for your safty..and you can bring your cell phones flash lights..an any ghost hunting equipment you may have..you won't be disappointed
For the overnight, I Strongly suggest you have a flashlight, a headlamp with red light option, voice recorder is a must. You'll have bathroom and meeting room access for breaks. You can bring food and drink to store in the meeting room. No alcohol allowed. If your guide offers to join your group on a hunt, take them up on the offer. They have some tools of their own!
I do not know the answer for over night stays. Daytime tours are awesome but much too fast to see everything. Very fascinating and quite interesting learn about how people were treated who had mental illnesses.
We did a guided flashlight tour when we went. It was fun and informative.
