You can seat anywhere juat get there on time and choose the best seat you desire.
This depends. If the movie says "reserved seating," you can pick a seat online or it'll be quuckly chosen/designated to you at the counter. Movies that say no reservation (or simply don't say anything), its free for all; find an empty seat of your choice and sit. IMAX and real 3d movies are the ones that often have the reservation option. Keep in mind, that although you reserved a section for you and buddies, others might sit there. You'll have to tell em you reserved the seats in question.
If you buy your ticket on line, you can choose your seat and the time you want to see the movie. I always make sure to check out the place that is showing the movie, its a great way to see is the theater is busy or not.
Open seating
You get a ticket, and then you go into the screening of the movie you would like to see. If you see a seat, claim it. However, I'm pretty sure there are some instances where you could book seats, but I have never tried that before.
