is the water safe from sharks

There has never been a shark sighting or attack in that part of the Chesapeake. Bay. There are bouts and markings where to swim and also lifeguards on duty

I have only been 2x. In both instances there was not a shark sighting. I definitely wouldn't go if I felt it was unsafe especially having kids. I don't go out to see if there are potential for sharks in deeper water. I stay in the 5 feet area and swim with the kids. The water isn't clear like tropical water but in my small experience at that beach I haven't had that experience. Hope it helps.
