Hi Jo Ann! Crystal Grottoes is open daily, the admission price is $20 for adults and $10 for children 11 and younger. There is a set of full stairs at the entrance to the cave system, as well as a couple spots where there are a few stairs. The caves are gorgeous, it is one of the most authentic caving experiences I have had. That being said, the cave is not as easy to traverse as, say, Luray Caverns. Crystal Grottoes is still being explored, and has been left in as natural a state as possible. There are some tight walkways, sloping floors, and low ceilings. At no point do you have to crawl, just mind your head. It is absolutely worth the rough edges to see the pristine formations.

There are winter hours... Only open on Saturday and Sunday same times. The owner just ran us off (we went on a weekday). Basically told us he wouldn't open the doors even I was JC on this Wednesday in Feburary. I think someone needed a nap!😁
