We sternly enforce our “no dogs” policy for health and food safety reasons. Trust us, you do not want large animals where your food is grown!! We have an in-depth understanding of NJ’s service dog statutes [N.J.S.A. 10:5-29] and would never deny entrance to a bona fide service dog. Therapy dogs and comfort dogs are not service dogs under NJ law. Bona fide service dogs do not have IDs, certifications or similar documents. The courts have deemed such identification requirements as discriminatory toward the disabled. Consequently, presenting service dog IDs is a red flag that a dog is being misrepresented as a service dog when it is not. Such misrepresentation is subject to fines under NJ’s law. Service dog cheaters are a continual problem as can be seen by commenters who have been denied entrance. Our goal is to treat everyone equally and not to allow special privilege to those who mislead and lie.
