I would definitely call the Broadmoor to get a schedule of the departure times. The shuttle is free (very convenient). Upon entrance you will have to pay admittance. There is additional charge for a tram (no walking), tram free its somewhere close to a mile. You can go solo or with a group....either way you will have fun. Take in the site and enjoy!!!!
You can show up. Check for closing times though. There is plenty of walking, but for $2 per person a trolley drives you in and you skip the mile or so of walking. There is an elevator to skip stairs to see the canyon (you get a view from the falls as well from there). But the staircase closer to the falls are by foot. And the trek is way longer. No groups necessary. I went alone with husband. There is also a restaurant there and facilities are very good. You can sit and take in the view while chilling at the bottom of the falls. It is really comfortable. The difficulty level is up to you. If you want to step it up, there are also hiking trails and the such. Good luck! And have fun! It is beautiful!
You have to take a free shuttle from the Broadmoor. I would call and ask them times that the shuttle runs for the day you want to go. :) Also, once the shuttle reaches where you pay for your ticket, you can pay a few extra dollars and there is a tram that takes you right up to the falls pretty much. If you don't take the tram, it is about a mile walking up hill. I pay for them to take me to the falls :) It's way easier. You can go in groups or solo. Have fun! It's beautiful.
