Lived at this complex for one year. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Only plus side was that maintenance was friendly. Apartment was not nice, as the buildings are old and outdated. The facilities are not great and there are always problems (pool opened late, mold was found in bath tub, leaky bathroom sink, and thats just a few problems). Dog owners do not pick up after their dog and the smell is repugnant. When my boyfriend & I moved out the complex was bought out and changes kept happening with no notice. I feel that we were treated as sources of income and not actual human beings. Great location as it is conveniently located but the price for what you pay for is not worth it and there are better apartments around.

Lived there for two years and a few months. Some of the neighbors don’t clean up after their dogs which sucks. But I needed to extend my lease for an unknown amount of time and the women in the office were super accommodating and very nice to work with. The maintenance guys are cool as hell and will take care of whatever you need from a leak to a broken closet door and anything in between.

If you can stomach the shabby exterior -- the gardens filled with as much cigarette butts as mulch, the dog excrement and beer bottles littered about, and the constant smell of marijuana -- Highland Club is honestly a cozy place to live. The people are friendly, front office included, but don't expect anything from them besides smiles, invoices and excuses. I was never late for payment during my twelve month lease and left Highland Club in May 2016. I have yet to receive my security deposit back and am in Collections for the replacement of my carpet, though I visited the new tenants and saw it was never replaced so photographed it. The office and manager admitted their "mistake" to me. We'll brush over the fact it was a blatant scam. They told me I would be withdrawn from Collections and reimbursed my security deposit. That was August 2016. Since then, I have remained in contact with the office to obtain my security deposit and fix my credit score. Their excuses have become clockwork: "Collections has been notified," "Your check is in the mail," and when their manager is absent from the office, the clerks will pass the blame on her inaction and provide more lip service. On July 1, 2017, I decided upon a more aggressive route and walked straight into the manager's office. Earlier that day I called and requested their email correspondence with Collections. They said they'd give it to me by the end of the day. When I walked into the manager's office nearing the end of the day without those emails, she was on the phone with her regional manager, Jonathan Kaplan. Mind you, this is the same regional manager who called me back personally from a restricted number and promised to handle my situation. The incompetence runs full circle. The manager refused to show me her emails to Collections. We engaged in a semi-heated exchange and raised our voices. She threatened to call the police and hollered at me out the door, telling me to call her regional manager and have him solve my problem. That's how much ownership she takes over her property. Highland club will probably respond to this review with your typical "We're so sorry, please email or call us and we will handle this," response. Be advised that so long as my post is online, I am still fighting for what they've stolen from me. I implore potential customers to read through this archive of unsatisfied customers with complaints similar to my own and let this failing manager's track record speak for itself.

My husband and I lived here for just over a year and had no major complaints other than the hallways smelling like marijuana and nobody ever picked up their dog poop. There was a scuff in the carpet when we moved in and when we moved out in may 2016, they sent us a bill with no information on it. When my husband contacted them about the bill, they said that the bill was for the carpet replacement. Even if that's what it was actually for, we should not have had to pay for that because the scuff had already been there and that was the only damage. The bill went to collections and my husband and I went to visit the apartment we had left (which was now being rented by another couple). They showed us that the scuff was still there and when we took the photo to the office staff, they retracted what they had said about the bill being for the carpet replacement and told my husband they would remove the bill from collections and he would get his security deposit back. It's now been 13 months and the bill is still in collections, hurting his credit, and we have yet to see a check for the security deposit reimbursement. My husband has been continuously contacting the office at highland club and they lie to him every time, making claims that the check has been cut and is being mailed to him, that they emailed collections, etc. We are growing more and more frustrated. If this is not resolved by the end of the month when he leaves for military training, we will have no other choice than to pursue legal action. This has gone on long enough.
