Living in Western WA, there are a few options for sourcing bamboo; however, the Bamboo Garden Nursery has the most impressive collection of plants. Healthy and carefully packaged, and FREE shipping with a 10x order of #2 & #5 gals. If plants have consciousness, I don't know who was more excited about getting them planted. Plant or Planter? They are absolutely beautiful. The Bamboo Garden Nursery has amazing prices, only bested by their inventory. Edit April 2022: Their updated website looks so much better than the old one, it took me a minute to make sure I was on the right page. Is this *really the Bamboo Garden!? Very polished. I do miss the master list of all available varieties with prices (the yellow board), but the update looks great. Focus is on education first and product promotion second; which is rare in our swipe now e-commerce net. Edit July 2022: Ordered 10x Golden Vivax five gallon pots. I called and asked if it was too late in the season for planting. But out here on the coast, our weather is a bit more accommodating. Noah had my order processed super quick, and he was very patient with me while I was on the fence between ordering #2 or #5 gallons. Penelope coordinated the shipping and was also very friendly. My delivery was completed by FedEx freight. And then I had this giant pallet of monsters to re-home. They were extremely well packaged and only a few of them needed to be topped. Noah picked absolutely stunning plants. It took me a few days to get them all planted, but now my backyard has been transformed into an oasis. I love Bamboo. I am a disabled Veteran, and it's just my pug dog, me and the bamboo. The Phyllostachys nigra I ordered Jan of '21 has almost tripled in size. The Phyllostachys Vivax I ordered last May has doubled in size. A BIG double. I wait with bated breath for next year. Bamboo is a widely misunderstood animal. Dragon? Ok, sure. But it is beautiful. Think never ending story, or Chinese New Year, not leviathan. If you are on fence of clumping vs running, consider your long term goals. If you want thick and tall, I would suggest running. But I tend to run after the things I like, so for me, it is relatable. If you are a bit more concerned about an invasion, and identify yourself cautious maybe clumping is more your speed. Give them a call, they will help you & if you have the opportunity, please go see their garden; it is Jaw dropping. To the General Manager: @Twitter for the Bamboo Garden. There are a lot of people who are on that platform specifically because they don't IG or FB. It's a huge community Bottom line; This is the best supplier of Bamboo.

Bamboo heaven is more like it. More different types of bamboo than I've ever seen. Very well maintained. Everyone is very friendly including the guard cats. Lol. The sweetest cats ever. They followed us around the entire garden wanting pets. And we obliged. We'll be going back real soon.

Bamboo Garden has exceptional customer service and a huge selection of Bamboo. My husband and I already had some Bamboo in pots for patio screening and Bamboo Garden staff was able to recommend some varieties that would compliment and thrive in the amount of sun our patio gets. We found out that the larger sized pots in some varieties are discounted if the customer picks up, so we made an appointment to do so. The drive to the North Plains location, outside of Portland, is in some beautiful country off of Highway 26, and once you are there, you are free to walk around their grounds. They provide you with a map identifying the varieties and a price list. It was really helpful to see in person what the different varieties look like. Many of the clumps are also identified by signs. Although you might be able to save a little money looking elsewhere, if you want the best selection of healthy, beautiful bamboo, this is the place!
