I had to move away because of a family matter and I'll start by saying while I may not have been the perfect Tennant it dosent matter landlords have a responsibility. To fix issues in the complex, though I'm sure that has a lot to being owned by a mgnt group and it's somewhat beyond their control it's still the mgnts group respondsibilty so maintain a safe place to live Exterior locks do not work (I estimate half do not work wither infront it in:back of the building) Have to walk half the length of the complex to empty your trash (small issue but annoying esp in bad weather) Loud/sketchy neighbors in the complex multiple mail boxes and apartments have been broken into recently Was shown one unit and was shown another I took the second one (my choice but they couldn't have been further apart in quality, though you couldn't tell, drafty windows, power outlets in the bedrooms that didn't work right, a bad satellite tv installation from the previous tenant that caused the living room to flood, no ac, a few more issues while I kept piling up think it was a bait and switch others don't agree with me) The Pool was never fully functional And now they under new management for the second time (that I know of) that will remodel all units as soon as they're empty and add 200 to the rent... This is the issue with out of state owners they don't consider (or maybe care) what normal rent amounts are in various areas abd will charge what they think is fair, forcing some tennats to slumlords just so they can afford rent The manager on site was hard to get a hold of, and maintaince was slow to respond it was either early in the morning or not at all

I have lived here for over 10 years. It is a great place to live. Very affordable prices and the best apartment manager you could ask for. They have been working on renovating the entire complex. All buildings have a new roof and all apartments have just had new A/C units installed. I highly recommend Somerset Village apartments.

The only redeeming factor about this place is Dora, the landlady. She is an absolute gem of a woman and just an overall pleasure to know. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the people who own the property, they really don't deserve someone like her. They want to make as much as they can while spending as little as possible on upkeep, leaving you constantly needing things fixed. If you can afford to live somewhere better, I would, but if you need a cheap place this is probably the best you'll find. It's hard to leave a complaint since I know Dora does the best she can, but these apartments have a lot of flaws and I get tired of having to constantly ask for them to be addressed so I just tolerate them the best I can. The other tenants can be a real pain as well. Some are very sweet and some are just the rudest people you could possibly find anywhere, apparently no one owns a cell phone so cars are constantly honking outside to signal tenants to come down. If I could tolerate having roommates I definitely would have moved out by now, but this is the only place where I can afford to live by myself. I've been here over a year now and while it's definitely not perfect, it's obviously acceptable enough that I renewed my lease and probably will again. If Dora ever leaves, however, I will probably break my lease and move immediately.

I've unfortunately lived here for 4 years. I've had no a/c for 2 years now. Some people have gotten window units for the inconvenience of no a/c, I had to purchase mine. If you are given an a/c then you get a $50 discount on rent, not me I paid full price and actually more than my neighbors that have the same size unit as I do. No one has seen a maintainence man in months. If you have a bug problem good luck. I took care of my own pets control, thanks neighbors that gave me those pests. I dont expect to get my deposit back, dont want it. At this point the only reason I stay is for my child that goes to school near by. If you want to pay your rent to a slumlord then this is your place. Drug deals right outside your door, no response from a manager who talks to her residence like ignorant children. If that sounds good to you more power to you. Oh and if you like people that aren't even maintainence opening your door and coming on in then this is also your place. If I could give negative stars I would.

TEH is no longer the manager so they might clean it up a bit, but you pay lights and gas
