Only dog park I go to. Separate areas for small, large, and mixed. Always nice people and nice to be able to take my slightly submissive puppy to the small area to get acclimated then we can transition to the mixed area.

I love this park, there's always dogs and families playing with their dogs or on the fields. There's also a kid's playground and plenty of open space. This park has a small, big and mixed dog area, all separated by fence. All three areas are big and have some trees for shadow when needed.

This is a public transit based review of the Hazeldale dog park: My puppy and I took the #88 bus to Hazeldale Dog Park's back entrance (at the end of SW Prospect St) as the main entrance isn't safe for entry without a car - there's no side walk, no cross walk nearby, a small shoulder, and the speed limit is I think 45 on that stretch of Farmington. Anywho, the back entrance has a forked path that either leads you to the park or towards Farmington (which is odd since again there's no sidewalks). After doing this trip a few times, I'd recommend instead of taking the #88 bus to take the #52 to Beaverton and get off at 185th and SW Rosa Rd. It's a bit of a walk to Hazeldale, but the majority of the walk has sidewalks and the little bit that doesn't is a residential street, so light traffic. It's much safer and less confusing than the #88 route. Once we got into the dog park, I thought at first there was no water for the dogs, but there is water available from a faucet outside the dog enclosures. So you have to leave your dog in order to refill the buckets/wader pool if the water's gross or out. The white plastic buckets for your dog to drink from are filled with scum at the bottom, so I'd recommend bringing your own water. I like that there's a wader pool in the big and small dog areas. However, the hose doesn't reach the big and the mixed sizes areas easily. This means that the mixed side and the big dogs can't enjoy their wader pool or fresh water as easily as the small dogs can. I don't think that's fair, and the park should get a longer hose so that all sides of the dog park can be reached. I like that each enclosure: big, small, and mixed is quite large, offers a lot of shade, and has park benches. The shade doesn't allow grass to grow so there's a pretty substantial segment of each section that's just dirt, which creates muddy dogs, especially if they play in the wader. Therefore, the wader doesn't stay clean very long (it took just 15 minutes for the wader to be muddy again). So the shade comes with a bit of a trade off! You can hose down your dog afterwards at the faucet. The air also can get quite a bit dusty if there's a lot of dogs kicking up dust. I had a few instances of inhaling dust and choking. I also appreciated that the fences separating the areas are quite high - maybe 8 ft?, so it's harder for the bigger dogs to jump the fence. I was warned that since there's a larger natural area right next to the dog park, there are coyotes that sometimes patrol the dog park fence. Coyotes can climb fences if they want in, so be vigilant at the edges of the enclosure that face the more wild area, especially if you have a smaller sized dog. Coyotes might see your dog as a snack. My puppy had a lot of fun playing with a half a dozen other small dogs and being able to run around and not overheat due to the shade and the wader, even in some pretty hot temps - like upper 90's. So despite some negatives, I'm still reviewing Hazeldale fairly highly.

Love having the 3 separate & fenced parks (1 for small dogs, 1 for big dogs, and 1 mixed). Plus clean water and clean bowls! There's a few picnic tables and shade provided by trees in each section too. There's also a paved path (leashed area) around the baseball fields and a path that leads to the tennis courts. Great park for dogs to get their energy out running in the fenced areas then a nice leashed walk along the path!

And if your dog doesn't do well with bigger or smaller dogs, or is just exceptionally shy, there are actually multiple fenced enclosures for different sizes of dogs. The enclosures are long enough that I can throw a Chuck-It is hard as I can and not worry about the ball flying out. It's honestly a really great park.
Yes! High fencing with three different areas for different sized dogs.
There is a beautiful path directly from the dog park to Farmington near 196th. Looks like the departure schedule for the 88 is 11-25 minutes on weekdays. SW Farmington & 196th Aloha, OR 97007 https://g.co/kgs/nR3fFT There is no light at that corner. Be very aware if you need to cross Farmington. It is a dangerous road.
A little bigger than a high school track. Easy walking loop with 2 baseball diamonds and a playground inside the loop.
It does not have lighted paths
This, like all public parks, is run by the local Parks & Recreation Department. Part of your tax Hazeldale Park happens to be part of Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District. Here's the link: http://www.thprd.org/parks-and-trails/detail/hazeldale-park Hope this is helpful! :)
