We played "School of Hard Locks" The room was mediocre, maybe a step below since you need some easy outside knowledge. Even if most people would get it, that's kind of a no-no in th ER world. The reason for the low rating is the treatment. We walked in right at our scheduled game time, and I know we're supposed to be early but we've done a ton of rooms across the country and, especially at a small town mom and pop on a Tuesday, that's never been a big deal(though it's only happened a few times in 250+ rooms.) Once she was done talking to the other group, the girl hands me a waiver clipboard and tells me in a fake bubbly voice that our time has already started. Ok fine, but that shouldn't be the first thing you say to someone and set the tone with. She leads the other group to their room and gives them a run-down while we wait, our clock apparently ticking. We're experienced and not too worried about getting out, but that put a damper on everything going forward. When we got out, she wasn't around(probably running the other room), and if my wife hadn't misplaced the car key we'd have been gone without seeing her again. Which woulda been cool. Once we saw that they'd blocked off all later times and we figured they were closing early we should have given up the idea of going. This isn't the first time we've had issues with the last game of the day. Unless it's the owner running things themselves, it's always some low wage worker trying to go home asap. Maybe we'll learn.

So much fun! They also give back to the community.

Booked an escape room online, received no tickets or proof of purchase and attempted to call to verify that our booking was received, left three messages, one at noon, one at two, and one at five. Got no response. Receive an email telling me “all set to go at 7pm” (the time I booked) Drive all the way up because my card was charged and I got that email, so I assume we have the booking, the place is locked and closed. Receive another email telling me my booking was switched to the 19th, a weekday instead of a weekend so I ask for a refund. They only refunded my ticket price and not the cost of tax so I paid $3 and drove half an hour for absolutely nothing.

I have done quite a few escape rooms at this point. The one that my wife and I did here was the Ultimate Nightmare. The puzzles were mostly fun, and they had some neat things to do that I had never used before. However, the things I didn't like about the room were probably what made the biggest impression. I was excited to try a room that had a scary element to it, but it was less of a scary time and more of a gruesome time. Without giving anything away, you are described as a team of detectives trying to gather enough evidence to put a infamous serial killer behind bars. We were more expecting to have to look for hidden evidence and clues that could incriminate him, but we quickly realized that there was a plethora of "evidence" strewn throughout the game. If you aren't into blood, body parts, and satanic references then this is not the room for you. In an escape room you generally want to touch and move everything you are allowed to in order to uncover the most information. In this room, neither of us really wanted to touch much of anything. There was also a very off-putting stench, which is probably to help set the mood, but neither my wife or I were really looking to be in that mood. My biggest beef was that there were a few red herrings that held us up for a while. I also accidentally solved a lock by wiggling it and skipped two entire puzzles. The room itself wasn't bad, and the puzzles were still satisfying to complete. It just wasn't what we originally had hoped for: a "crime solving, clue hunting, super sleuth" room. It was more of a "search through the morbid carnage of a deranged psycopath" kinda room. Maybe you like that stuff. Then by all means do it. It is still a fairly good escape room. And the staff on hand were very nice and helpful. We asked for a few clues, and they were easy to understand and follow. But my overall opinion of the room was not very high. I still would think the other rooms are worth giving a shot.

Questions & Answers

do you do b-day partys

Yes they do and it's a great thing as long as you only have 10 people or less

So looking outside and checking the forcast, it looks bleak for the Ultimate Nightmare today. Can I get a raincheck to do it a different day. It will take a while to organize all the participants in another common time, does that matter?

You may have better luck either messaging their Facebook page or calling them on the listed number. Typically, escape rooms have a no cancellation policy, but it differs from place to place.

How much is it per person and is their a limit to how many people can go at one time

Depends on the room you do. The ones we've done have been $20/person (some range up to $25), and most rooms have an upper limit of 8-10. Again, it depends on the room. Call or message them for specifics.
