In short, Recreational Marijuana (or 'Adult Use Cannabis') products are more expensive than medical because the recreational cannabis program has greater compliance requirements and is more heavily taxed than medical. There are stringent testing requirements to ensure the safety of the products. Currently there are no testing requirements in the Maine medical cannabis program.
