Loved it here the site offered almost everything we needed while camping there. From selling ice, to renting a fire pit, propane tank refills, and even adapters for the RV plugs in the site. The place was clean and close to everything in the area

This campground only deserves two stars - one because the bathrooms were clean and showers were hot and two because it's conveniently located near the town of Durango. Other than that this place was very subpar and very expensive for tent camping. This place is more of an RV site and does not really cater to tent campers. All the tent sites are located at the far end of the campsite. Which means a 5 minute walk to the bathroom; not to mention the only bear locker is just as far which mean you have to drive there every night/morning to get your food. All the tent sites are very small, barely enough room to fit a family sized tent and canopy and vehicle. The tent sites aren't very flat and overgrown with brush and weeds. Their site says their pool is heated - it is NOT - it's as cold as mountain water. The staff, only saw one person, wasn't very friendly when I checked in - admonishing me because the screen door was left open (even though I wasn't the last person in/out). She simply handed me a piece of paper and map when I checked in and that was it, no "thank you" or "enjoy your stay" and asking me if I had any questions. The 'play ground' for kids is overgrown with weeds, a broken tether ball pole, and dated swing set from the 80's. You can't burn wood fires which is a joke but can "rent" a gas grill for $25 a night. This place was an immense rip off over $350 for nights for tent camping!!!! We could've rented a hotel in town with an indoor heated pool for a few dollars more (and probably should've). Also, the tent sites are across from private property and they were yelling, cursing, and arguing at each other most nights and early mornings. Will never come back to this dump and encourage anyone thinking of camping near Durango to think twice about this place.

We had a great 5 night stay at Lightner Creek Campground! We were surprised that it wasn’t more full. Site 38 is a total win! Creek side, full hook ups and a ton of fun for the whole family. Beware that there is poison ivy on the site, actually a fair amount of it. If your kids are old enough to be told to stay away this isn’t an issue. But I could imagine it being a safety concern for families with toddlers. This campground isn’t anything fancy, but it’s perfect for those who love nature and the outdoors! Another side note: we had to wait 20 minutes to leave because the positioning of the dump site blocks entrance and exit to half the campground… so if you are in a rush to get out of the park keep an eye on the dump site station. Overall this place is a win and we’d come back.

We hold a Casita rally here every spring. It's a PERFECT campground for a get-together! Excellent facilities, lovely campground and a staff that really makes it all work.

I think so. I would call and check they still do it.
Yes, we are. We have 3 tiny home cabins and 2 lodges that are available during the winter season. There are lots of great skiing/snow boarding in our area.
Very easy drive. Super nice people run this place. Definitely stay there if you can.
I would assume no, but I'm not sure.
