Hot spring is great. Mineral water smells strong. Too many people. Camping site is ok. The water conservation tap is not convenient to use.

Parked here in an RV for one night to enjoy the hot springs. The campground was very pretty but the roads and trails were a complete mess. Giant potholes and mud made it a long, difficult walk to the hot springs from the RV. Also, the service in the lodge is very lacking. We walked there to ask about campground maps and were told they didn’t have any with such apathy!! :( don’t you know you’re a tourist spot and people are going to want to know the layout of the park???? So weird. It’s basically $20/hour to soak in the hot springs which are basically just stinky mineral rich hot tubs. Not natural looking at all, there are 2 adult sized mini pools and one very shallow kiddie pool. They get crowded fast, and are only certain time slots are available so make sure to plan when you want to soak! After wandering a bit, we found a path and walked it until we ran into occupied campsites. Saw some small, not afraid deer so that was cool :)

Quiet, huge trees, wet and cold, but a nice getaway! 4 stars because it's crowded, hard to reserve, and has a really short open season. All the wooded campgrounds near the Olympic National Park have a similar setting and amenities, so unless you're going to hang out in the hot springs, you're usually better off somewhere else. Loop B is more private than loop A, many sites are below the road, and there is light cell signal right along the water. The RV camp is bare bones. The Hot Spring water is lovely, especially when it's raining. It has a very strong sulfur scent, sometimes the water is yellow. This is natural and normal, but varies with the geo activity. Temperature in the hottest pool is usually around 104°/105° F. The hike from the upper parking lot to Sol Duc falls is very easy, for a nice long walk, hike Lovers Lane from the hot spring parking lot. Cost - If you plan to spend most of your time in the hot spring, stay at the resort, rooms range from $250-$350 and include unlimited sessions in the springs for 2 people. (There's also a 3 bedroom house that sleeps up to 8 for $500) A 1 1/2 hour session in the springs costs up to $18 per person if you aren't staying at the resort, that adds up fast. The rooms are very simple so the cost is only worth it if you're planning on spending a lot of time in the water or don't own camping equipment. Food and coffee at the restaurant is good, salads and burgers are worth the cost. The gift shop has blankets, alcohol, towels, and swim accessories that you don't see at many of the national park gift shops.

Absolutely a piece of Heaven on Earth!! We stayed in an RV in the campground. Easy access, hook-ups, dump site, etc. Outdoor camp fires were allowed while we were there in April. Wonderful trails to hike. You can hear the babbling river and croaking frogs at night. Camp site is an easy walk to the Hot Springs which were an absolute delight!!! We loved this place and will definitely return. Staff was super nice and helpful.
