Called the number on the website, dialed 0 for support, got Kate on the line and my questions were answered promptly. Kate was very helpful and she is an asset to the county, I am very grateful to have people like her in the public services department.

Could someone help me understand how it's legal to value property with a house at $125,000.00 but charge property taxes on $250,000.00?

The office wait time was minimal to get my marriage license which was nice. The office is modern and clean with waiting seats. There is an automated system to queue you for an agent. $60 for a marriage license. After you're married you can order "certified copies" of your marriage certificate through this office, but what you actually get is just a photocopy of the certificate with a notary stamp on the back ($5 per copy) this is **NOT A CERTIFIED COPY** Don't waste your money! Many agencies (Social Security, DMV, etc.) do not accept these paper copies. If you want an actual certified copy (intaglio banknote paper with the seal of the State of Oregon and the seal of Oregon Health Authority) you can order only from Oregon Vital Records (oregon.gov/oha).

You fill out the application for a marriage license with your fiancee online or at the marriage license building they have computers that you may use also. Questions regarding date of ceremony, birth information for both parties and parent information of both parties... then you both must be present at the marriage license building, grab a number to sign off on the application and pay the fee. ...all information is on their website too
