I arrived early afternoon by referral from urgent care as "Urgent" BP was at dangerous levels and possible stroke. I waited in the lobby for almost 3 hrs and not seen! Only one triage nurse was available. I was feeling better so opted to leave (not the best idea) My condition worsened later that evening 10pm (Upon arrival a PT recognized me from earlier and said she was still waiting after 8 hrs) With bp at stroke level, was sent for CT and ordered iv meds. Then there was a shift change. I was returned to the er lobby and sat for hrs. NEVER seeing a dr., NEVER getting iv or bp meds, felt like my head would explode! It wasn't until I again said, I would leave that I finally got noticed at 3am. The Dr. met me in the triage room, ordered a bp pill, got the pill at 4am & no one ever came back. 7.5 hrs to get a pill... ridiculous! At 5:30am I walked out! Then saw my PC

they had me walk out on crutches after getting hit by a city bus saying I was fine with a bruised leg after one x ray and to start walking asap & start putting pressure on it. not to mention I almost blacked out trying to get to my moms car, and to find out 3 weeks later from urgent care that my pelvis is broken in 3 places along with bones in my leg.

We went there after midnight for our child's multiple vomitings and potential dehydration. We were checked on twice, but had to wait about an hour to be seen properly by a doctor. Later we found out that was because they were attending to another child who was in a much serious situation. We were thankful to be seen afterward and the care received was impeccable. David who was the nurse assigned to us in the night shift was truly an angel. We were sleep-deprived and our child was suffering, and David couldn't have been any more patient and concerned. Dr. Jonathan Weyand was amazing and took care of our baby in the best way. The other staff were also truly helpful in every possible way. The ER was packed with people, and though we were on the corridor, we were thankful to have a bed given the limited resources they were working with at that point. Looking at the reviews and complaints, I'm sure there are places to improve in this ER. But the effort we saw that night/dawn was nothing less than exemplary.

unbelievable! they have become a referral center. the doctor did not want to touch my ear because she was concerned about a prior mastoidectomy that was done in 1979! and said she would have to call another hospital for an ent and didn't want to put the ent out! just because they didn't have one on call. I only go to emergency as a last resort. I had terrible vertigo and middle ear infection could not even focus my eyes right. had diarrhea and was vomiting for two days. yet they sent me off to catch a bus home. came back two hours later in an ambulance and they pushed me in the wheelchair to the middle of the waiting room surrounded by people while i was tilted over throwing up. I never did get seen. they just let me sleep it off! Three years ago I had swollen tongue and lips. (i have went into full anaphylaxis at least three times in my life.) not even an epi shot. this place is a joke! no better than a sea mar clinic.

St. Pete's is notoriously bad with regards to how patients are treated. If you look like you have money and good insurance you are treated well, if you look like u are low income they put u in a room and forget u
Yes, by the cafeteria.
37 beds plus hallway beds. Wait time varies wildly. I've seen immediate bedding and 16 hour waits. Average is probably in the 1-2 hour range depending on how sick you are.
