Our dogs liver enzymes were elevated so we took him in for a xray of his liver. The xray showed a enlarged liver and it was sent to a radiologist for interpretation. Results were to be back in 2 to 3 day. It has been 9 days and still nothing. Have called and left messages. I even went in and left a message for the vet. Still no call back. Our dog in the meantime could be getting sicker with no treatment plan.I can't understand why they don't answer the phones or return phone messages.

THEY DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES. Don’t bother leaving a voicemail because they won’t bother giving you a call back. I have been trying to get my dogs vaccination records. I have called several times this past week. I have left a voicemail telling them to call back. They never did. I finally got ahold of someone after calling twice. I told the lady who answered the phone that I needed the vaccination records. She said, “someone will call you after checking this dog in”. 3 hours later I have called again several times. They have started sending me to voicemail after 1 ring or not letting it ring and sending me to voicemail. This is ridiculous. It should not take me over a week to get my petS records and for someone to answer the phone.

The veterinarians they have on staff are great and they've managed my dog's various health problems for the most part. I don't think I'd sign up again for the wellness plan they have. We paid $78 a month and it didn't cover much. It might be worth it if you have a relatively healthy pet. Our dog was a rescue and had a lot of health problems from the start. The veterinary assistants who work the front counter need more training on dealing with a customer's loss of a pet. When my dog died and I called to let the clinic know and also arrange cremation, the girl I spoke to was insensitive to the fact that we had just lost our dog. Her final words before she hung up the phone were, "You guys have a good one." I know it wasn't deliberate, but think before you speak. Learn to have empathy.

Dr. Nelson and her tech Liz are amazing. They love their job! Liz was a breath of fresh air that made my day. My dog Marty is unsure of most people and he loved her. She took the time to get to know each other and to make him comfortable. She went above and beyond.

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Aug 16, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
