POST B) Positive experiences in Post A. Negative ones here. - I dropped my poodle off and told the assistant what we were there for, including a detailed list of the needed vaccinations and services (four total, nail trim, and diagnosis on the skin irritation). She took it all down, and I went to get a coffee next door. The doctor called me after 15 minutes or so and went over some basic observations from the physical. He confirmed with me that she needed a rabies vaccine, and I followed up with "Yes, but also these others", which he apparently didn't know, even though the attendant had updated her appointment information. I then asked about the skin irritation on the snout. He responded by telling me about discharge from the eyes and how it's completely normal (I know this), and went on for a good three minutes before I was able to say, "Yes, but what about the irritation on the SNOUT." He said, "Oh...what irritation?" I asked him to look again (my dog has significant skin condition and I'm not sure what's it's from). He then asked me how close I have her trimmed. I told him I groom her myself with an oiled, cleaned, sterilized 10 blade and that I never go closer than that. He said I should invest in taking her to a professional groomer to mitigate any chance of accidentally irritating her. Y'all...I body shaved horses for 18 years in my previous equestrian life. I promise, I'm not cutting or burning my own dog. -raised eyebrow- So, then I explained this to him and asked him merely if there was a chance it may be bacterial and what he may recommend to heal it, if there was a reason there was blood under it, if there were over the counter shampoos I might try. He said, well, if she's not in pain, don't worry about it. When I tried to question further, his tone and phone demeanor made it clear he was no longer interested in talking. - I had asked for a nail trim of all four feet. When I came back, it appeared they had only trimmed her front toes, as the back toes are the same length and bear no evidence of clippage, quick, or filing. Anyway, I came back early; the assistant, who saw me waiting in the lobby, assumed our appointment was over. She got my dog and dismissed us. We got almost to the car four blocks away when I got a call to come back, they hadn't given my dog her vaccinations yet. - Upon getting my dog back to the car the second time, I noticed two of the injection sites were -still- bleeding. I've NEVER had an animal bleed for more than approximately 20 seconds after a shot. Never. TWO sites bled (just a little, but consistently) for more than 5 minutes. I did not like this at all. - Immediately after getting back home, my dog vomited massively. One of the treatments was supposed to be oral, and I was concerned she may have mitigated the efficacy of the dose, so I phoned the clinic to ask. The med tech didn't even listen to my question. He told me that injected vaccines won't lose efficacy with vomiting. I responded, yes I know -injected ones- don't, but what about ORAL ones? He couldn't answer, responding that he wasn't sure. - Finally, the attendant had told me she'd email me the record of the appointment with all forms and vaccines. I never received it and had to call BACK to the clinic to request they email it again. SO...summary. I was pretty well pleased with the trimmings of the facility, but some aspects raised my eyebrows quite a bit. I would be willing to give the clinic one more visit, but with the scatterbrained disorganization, the unwillingness to engage on a conversation about what to do to address my dog's skin condition, and the vomiting/bleeding/half-listening skills displayed by the doctor and the attendant, I am not sure this is the best Vancouver has to offer.

Super happy with WellHaven. They really care about your animal and about your own concerns. Nice doctors and great staff. Facilities are clean and modern and I always got an appointment right away. When asked for the price of neutering I got a specific answer which was great. I have been to a different vet before and it was so hard to get an appointment and when asked for pricing it was not very transparent so I SWITCHED to WellHaven and I'm SUPER HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE bringing my dog there.

We've had some bad experiences at other vet clinics in town. Our dog, Jack, is a very good boy, but he is very 'reactive' when at the vet and somehow we've been made to feel like that's our problem to solve, not the professionals who deal with animals and their health ALL THE TIME! Not so at WellHaven. They were kind, friendly, calm and patient; got down on the floor, gave lots of treats, allowed me and my teenage son to assist in ways that made Jack more comfortable. We did have to resort to a muzzle, but they put peanut butter on the inside of it and I put it on him and that made all the difference. The shots were almost anti-climactic. He didn't even flinch. Whew! Next up, Rosie the cat, who is feisty, to say the least. They raved about how beautiful she is, which was perfect, she's very vain, and gave her lots of love, again, the shots were done with minimal drama. Vaccinations up to date, flea treatments that I asked for, nothing that I didn't ask for, except a few free samples of some joint health supplements because I mentioned that Jack had a knee that went out, occasionally. Oh, and back to back appointments on a Saturday within a week of my initial web inquiry. I wish HUMAN healthcare was that easy.

I brought my hound into Dr. Streeter and it was wonderful. Her staff was very patient with my hound and after he decided to relieve his bowels in the first room we were brought into, the staff kindly giggled and moved us to another room while they cleaned up. Though i was embarrassed the visit went well! Dr. Streeter provided different realistic options for my boy understanding that I was on a budget. Though we still had to go with his original meds, she still took the time to provide more information and other options to consider and look into. As of now, the Hound boy is doing good and looking forward to his next visit for his shots soon (well he is looking forward to the many treats he will be getting lol)
