Portions were rather large (no complaints). The food was good. Service was good will definitely eat there again.

Waiting staff is nice. Friendly and quick sometimes. The real worry is the food. Ordered a philly cheese steak, bread was cold, cheese was slightly warm, and it wasn't even stripped steak or cheap box of steak'ems you find at Walmart. It was thin slices of roast beef? That's not really a philly cheese steak. Burgers aren't even fresh, you can tell each one is frozen and not fresh. You can go to McDonald's and have a burger that tastes better frozen than here. I've tried many times to give this place a chance, last thing I had there was biscuits and gravy. Got 2 biscuit with Gravy and pieces of sausage, but it tasted like paste, had to use a bunch of salt and pepper. Just no seasoning on any food. I know it takes a lot to own a restaurant but there are more places in Portage with better food. Hope it can turn around because I love the location and some of the wait staff that work there.

We are doing a really cool road trip before gas prices make it undoable, this gem in Portage Wisconsin is Amazing! I was totally in the mood for a good small town breakfast and this place is exactly what I wanted. I got the Farmers Skillet and it came with two pancakes, so much food for $9.99!! And it’s not only the quantity but it’s absolutely delicious. If you’re riding by or even if you’re not, this place is worth the drive. The staff was also incredible, small town, happy, and friendly. Everything I love about America!

B&B Hitching Post was closed, so we tried Red Apple. This is based on the food only. I got the steak and scrambled eggs. The hashbrows were cooked to order, so the service is good. The steak had a livery flavor and the eggs tasted like the free breakfast you get at a Days Inn. My fiance said the wrap was good. For the price, it is not good. There are better breakfast and wrap places.

There's nothing there gluten-free far as I know it's a lot of homemade food like Mom pop the restaurants family a family style restaurant that's great lasagna decent steaks I like the sunny side up eggs breakfast items it's a lot of fatty foods there's not a lot of gluten-free stuff
