I have been training with Geoff since the end of December with a covid break I scouted Geoff for two weeks before signing up. I was attracted to his low key demeanor and the significant amount of teaching he did with clients. I enjoy my training sessions very much. Geoff is well prepared, mixes things up to keep it fun and interesting. I always feel safe. I get lots of encouragement and feel. That I am getting closer to my fitness goals with my training. I highly recommend Geoff.

My teen daughter and I were both working with a trainer at Lloyd and getting a lot out of it; we particularly liked the gym's chill MYOB atmosphere. After the COVID shutdown sent us all home, our trainer stayed in touch, checked in about our health &n offered support as we tried to get exercise at home. Since then, Lloyd has dug in and created a Zoom training studio, with a set-up that works great for home training to serve people who don't feel ready to go back to the gym or for whom it's out of the question. I've had a couple sessions that way and I LOVE it.

I had brain surgery 6 months prior to walking into LAC. I asked if any of their trainers could work with a former gym rat who now has no idea how an exercise program is going to go while recovering from a major surgery. I was lucky to get paired up with Geoff. Our first session we just talked and I told him my whole history and all of my concerns. He said he would pace things accordingly. I will admit, I was still skeptical. Geoff was fantastic. He has so much knowledge around fitness and was able to see me as an individual and tailor the program to what my body could handle, while still lightly pushing some limits. I switched jobs and so a gym in NE didn’t make sense as my whole life was now based in SW, so I had to move on. I would recommend Geoff to anyone who is looking for a good personal trainer.

I joined LAC 5 months ago and signed up for personal training. Through the personal training, I have been taught how to use the equipment properly and can also feel comfortable going and working out on my own. I highly recommend Geoff to all skill levels. Geoff is highly knowledgeable and knows how how to keep workouts challenging.

Questions & Answers

Do you offer nutrition guidance with personal training?

Great question. Yes! Your Trainer will help you find the right style of eating for your goals, your lifestyle, and your quality of life. If any Trainer tells you that you have to eat a specific diet that you know deep down you will never follow just run:) A great Personal Trainer will work with you to find real life changes that you can make to not only support your goals (weight loss, toning, muscle gain, etc) but also be something you can stick with and adapt as your life changes.

Is there Personal Training available for couples that want to train together?

Khino Brackeen | Aug 16, 2021
Lloyd Athletic Club Personal Training | Aug 16, 2021

Absolutely! In fact, you don't even have to be a "couple". Many people have workout partners/buddies that help them stay motivated. Our Personal Trainers are more than capable of handling more than one client at a time. Most Personal Training companies would just charge you double, but not us, we have reduced rates for groups of 2 or more. Take advantage of our Free Personal Training Session and we will show you all your options on price with NO PRESSURE whatsoever!

Do you have both male and female trainers?

Lloyd Athletic Club Personal Training | Aug 16, 2021

Yes we do! We pride ourselves on having many options for Personal Trainers and feel comfortable we can find a good fit for everyone. We would also like everyone in Portland to know that we strive to be the most inclusive gym, not only in Portland, but also in the State of Oregon. We have very diverse Personal Trainers that are not just stereotypical "meatheads" and a Gender Neutral changing room if you are not comfortable in locker rooms. If you would like a little help achieving your goals but are not super comfortable in a big gym then give our Free Personal Training Session a try and see for yourself why we were voted Best Gym in Portland 2 years in a row. We'd love to have you!

How many sessions a week do you recommend for weight loss?

Lloyd Athletic Club Personal Training | Aug 16, 2020
Lloyd Athletic Club Personal Training | Aug 16, 2021

Generally speaking 2 Sessions per week is the minimum to see significant results and then learn how to manage your program yourself but every client (and budget) is different. We will make recommendations for you during a Free Session based on your goals but you know your schedule, lifestyle, and budget so it's up to the Client to decide what's best for them. We never pressure (like the big Corporate Gyms) and will work as hard as we possible to get you the results you want to see regardless of how many sessions you purchase.

Do I need to have a gym membership to work with a Personal Trainer?
