Came here for the first time today and spent some time looking for a birthday gift for a friend. The store itself is nice and the selection is great, albeit overpriced. What I wasn’t happy with was my uncomfortable shopping experience, in which an employee seemed worried I was going to steal something. After some time browsing, I was approached by an employee who beelined from the counter directly to me and asked if I needed help. I told her no thank you, I was just browsing for a gift. She didn’t walk away, and said I was looking at things “very intently” so maybe I needed help. I told her again, “I’m good, thank you”. As a woman of color, I am no stranger to getting “extra attention” from employees while shopping stores and this interaction felt particularly discriminatory. I didn’t see this employee ask the shoppers around me if they needed help as well - perhaps they weren’t looking at things “intently” enough. I checked out with around $90 worth of merchandise, but I am tempted to go back to return my purchases after reflecting on my experience. I hope this isn’t a reflection of the attitudes of the rest of the staff. I read other reviews before posting my own, to see if anyone else has had an experience like this one. There was one other reviewer who mentioned they had a similar experience.

Quality selection of local, creative goods ranging from artisan leather to artisan chocolates, at prices that you pretty much would expect for the quality you get. It's like the Saturday Market except nicely ensconced indoors.
