This is one of the most unprofessional establishments ever. I called the location at 5pm to place an order for pick up. No one answers. So I drive to the location. I make it there by 5:30. People are eating and the doors are locked. I asked could I place a to go order. The waitress was polite enough to ask Mrs. Freshwater. She stated no they are closed. The purpose of business hours are to serve during those hours. If not close at 5pm.

Felt like we was at Grandma's house. Mrs. Freshwater is an amazing host (I think we go just to see her latest outfit, she SHARP!!) No but ..really the have the best sweet potatoes in America. The whole menu is out of this world. You can't go wrong at Freshwaters.

The experience: My cousins and I came to Freshwater’s for the peach cobbler based on the reviews. 2 of us went inside to order and to wait on the rest of our party. Before the rest of the party could even come in, the owner instructed the hostess to lock the door and not let anyone in. They didn’t even want to let the rest of our party come in, even though she knew we were waiting for a few more. The owner was rude to the hostess and the poor girl was so flustered, her hands were shaking. She even apologized on the owner’s behalf. The peach cobbler: The peace cobbler was absolutely horrible. It was more peaches than cobbler and it had absolutely no flavor. I’ve had better peach cobbler from Shane’s Rib Shack. To be honest, I would even prefer Marie Callander’s peach cobbler over Freshwater’s. 3 of us threw it in the trash after the 1st bite. 1 of us had a burnt hard piece of unflavored dough. Maybe we came on a bad night…I don’t know. Maybe the owner was more concerned about the large party that she had coming in over the customers that were already there. Either way, the terrible customer service plus the terrible peach cobbler guaranteed that we will never come back.

This restaurant reminded me of my childhood best friend’s grandmother’s cooking. The owners, the atmosphere, and the quality of food are impeccable. This is a restaurant that needs to be featured because the meals are cooked with love. Try the peach cobbler—best we’ve ever had! Thanks! We will be back!
