Tried ALL DAY to talk to someone at DHS, they never answered the phone!

Just beginning my relationship with the team of people here that are helping me navigate my new role as a single dad with a 4 month old baby. It has been smooth so far, and they are all eager to help in any capacity, and they are very understanding of the situation and all it's nuances.

DHS is doing curbside assistance and in person assistance. The staff that I worked with were kind and patient. There was a handful of others inside with me and we were all in and out in less than 20 minutes!

Really needed aid and was approved In February. Told that my card would be mailed out.... now I’m sitting in their parking lot in April trying to pick one up and they won’t have them ready for a half an hour. Would I like to wait? Considering it took me a week to make the time to get here and a 45 min drive to arrive, I sort of have no choice. Why would you not mail the card when aid was approved. We didn’t sign up doe aid because we didn’t need it.

Yes. Also I'm pretty sure you we qualify for an honored pass which gives you discounted fares
Oregon doesn't take part in that program. UPDATE:11/11/18 There is a program now under Assurance Wireless Look up EBT Apps pick the newest one. Not the egg. Its called FRESH EBT and it has a orange on it. In there it will show you more than balances. It has coupons and other programs for people on SNAP ect..... Good luck. Let me know how it goes. I just found it so I am going to apply. I will update you more when I get it.

Document, don't take cash, call the police, check with your insurance, sue. Get someone you trust to deal with googling state laws and use another source besides Google maps. It's a terrible situation and you need to have support working through this.
